Types of Sexual Appetence Dysfunction:
- Hypoactive sexual disorder, often secondary to conditions like myocardial infarction or surgery (e.g., mastectomy or hysterectomy).
- Sexual aversion, which can result from sexual trauma and may involve various aspects of the sexual act (e.g., kissing, intromission).
- Symptoms include:
- Lack of vaginal lubrication.
- Reduced vaginal swelling.
- Diminished genital response to sexual stimulation.
- Both women with sexual arousal dysfunction and those without it exhibit similar psychological responses to erotic stimuli.
- Estrogen decrease (e.g., during lactation or postmenopause) is a major cause of sexual arousal disorders in women.
Anorgasmia:
- Defined as the absence of orgasm in at least 75% of cases following sexual excitement.
- Causes can be:
